Rode Lewis is a real-life cowboy.

He looks the part—sunburned, stoic, lean as a whip. You wouldn’t know it to look at him, but Rode lives with End Stage Renal Disease. Every other day he gets up at 2:20 AM and drives 180 miles for kidney dialysis. This keeps him alive.

Rode and his family wanted to build a home dialysis room. Home dialysis is healthier and would allow him to live longer – long enough to raise his daughters and see his grandchildren. But ranch hands don't make much money.

So with zero budget and all volunteer labor, we built a small but scrappy pro-bono fundraising campaign.

The campaign launched on GoFundMe on December 13, 2016 at 7:00 AM. By 5:18 that evening we met our $20,000 goal.

Within a week, we more than tripled that amount.

The Facebook reach has hit 38K likes, and donations have continued to come in, exceeding $80,000. We are thrilled and humbled by the success.

A jury comprised of senior creatives from Anomaly, TDA Boulder, Carmichael Lynch, Beats By Dre, and TBWA\Chiat\Day recently awarded us an “Integrated Campaign” 2017 Austin ADDY.

rancher advocacy program (RAP)

How can farmers thrive on their land WITHOUT using animals? Most farmers and ranchers love their animals, and often experience emotional conflict regarding the animals they are raising for slaughter. But many feel they have no way out.

Renee King-Sonnen, founder of Rowdy Girl Sanctuary, created the world’s first successful cattle ranch transition to a non-profit sanctuary model. She and her former cattle rancher/co-founder husband, Tommy Sonnen, launched the Rancher Advocacy Program (RAP) - a program that inspires farmers and ranchers to consider alternatives to animal agriculture.

To help them get the word out, I wrote, directed and produced two PSAs: one targeting farmers wanting to make a change, and one targeting companies needing suppliers (EX: for plant milk, pineapples for vegan leather, and mushrooms for packaging). The PSAs promoted and were featured their 2021 RAP Summit
